The Play it Again Sports stores in the Greater Cincinnati area are owned and operated by John and Mary McGregor.  The McGregors moved to the Cincinnati area in 1977 and started a family.  Raising two children who were both very involved in sports, John and Mary realize how expensive it can be to have to buy new equipment year after year.  The appeal of being able to trade in the equipment children grow out of to save money on buying new and used gear in the right size was something that led to the purchase of their first Play it Again Sports franchise, which opened in March of 1993. 

By 1996, the McGregors expanded to three stores with the locations in Fairfield on Dixie Highway and in Colerain on the corner of Colerain Ave. and Galbraith Rd.  Now in 2008, their son Johnny has joined the family business.  The McGregors plan to expand yet again to a fourth store located in the West Chester area at 129 and Cincinnati-Dayton Rd.
